Elizabeth has extensive Training in Gottman Couples Therapy and Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy, which are the two leading therapeutic models for relationship counselling.

Elizabeth's main interest is intimate connection. She is passionate about helping you get to the heart of what really matters to you, and empowering you to build a relationship where you and your partner both feel loved and supported.

- Relationship Sustaining Skills
- Heartfelt communication
- Respectful conflict management
- Intimacy and/or friendship
- Differing expectations
- Betrayal and trust issues

Elizabeth's Relationship workshops convey the skills that minimise relationship difficulties and lead to healthy relationships. Opportunities are provided in the workshops for single people and couples to examine their feelings, thoughts, expectations and behaviour, and to improve the quality of their relationship.

Elizabeth's couples consultations facilitate emotional connection and the longevity of love. While appreciating the uniqueness of each client, in terms of their concerns, needs, priorities, background and personality, her comprehensive knowledge of the complexity of relationships helps you cultivate the intimate environment you yearn for.

Every consultation is aimed at guiding you to improve your emotional connection and develop a more satisfying bond.

Some years ago Elizabeth wrote a column on love and relationships for a national magazine.

The quality of our lives is eminently affected by the quality of our intimate relationship.

You could benefit from counselling if:
You're heartbroken
You or your partner feels rejected, disconnected, undervalued, alone, disappointed, unhappy, unimportant, unloved, abandoned or betrayed
Your fights are increasing in frequency and/or intensity
Affection and intimacy have waned or are problematic
Your communication has become negative
You want more from your relationship
You feel like you're going though the motions or you and your partner have become like flatmates
You're staying in your relationship for the children
You just can't get through to your partner
You're considering separating or have separated
You've had several broken relationships

As most people don't automatically know how to relate well, relationship skills need to be acquired.

Divorce can be one of the most stressful experiences we ever face. Yet approximately 95 percent of divorcing couples have never seen a relationship counsellor and, on average, those who do, were experiencing difficulties for six years before making an appointment for help.

While the divorce rate is relatively high, disillusionment is somewhat unwarranted because current research leaves us with little doubt about how to keep love alive.

Workshops

If you organise a group of ten participants Elizabeth will facilitate workshops on the following topics:

- Sustaining relationships
- Heartfelt communication
- Respectful conflict management
- Intimacy and friendship
- Differing expectations
- Betrayal and trust issues
- Any other topic you choose

Elizabeth's Relationship Workshops convey the skills that minimise relationship difficulties and lead to healthy relationships. Opportunities are provided in the workshops for single people and couples to examine their feelings, thoughts, expectations and behaviour, and to improve their relationship skills.

You'll be treated respectfully and won't be pressured to reveal anything about yourself or your relationship. You can expect to be informed about some of the determinants of relationship dissatisfaction and how to avoid the pitfalls that many couples unwittingly fall into.

Gather together people who, like yourself, want to grow as individuals and understand love, people who place a premium on their relationship, and Elizabeth will design a programme that addresses each participant's most significant relationship challenge or interest.

The cost of the workshops is equivalent to a couple of counselling sessions with a psychologist. Whereas these workshops aren't therapy, they typically have a therapeutic effect. Therefore, participating in Elizabeth's Workshops could be a crucial investment in your future.

You may benefit from counselling in addition to participating in these workshops if you seriously struggle to say anything positive to or about your partner, or if your relationship involves addictions, sexual dysfunction, infidelity, or abuse.
